GARY ANDERSON will return to action in the Betway Premier League at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle on Thursday. The reigning Premier League champion was ruled out of last Thursday's opening night in Leeds through illness, and also missed the weekend's UK Open Qualifiers in Wigan. However, Anderson will make his return to action against Michael van Gerwen in Thursday's second league night, to be held at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle. Anderson is also set to compete in the weekend's Dutch Darts Masters European Tour event in Venray. In addition, following Anderson's withdrawal in Leeds and with Michael Smith having faced Adrian Lewis, the fixtures for Night Seven in Glasgow have now been amended. Anderson and Lewis will now meet at The SSE Hydro in their previously planned fixture, with the Scot then returning later in the night to play Peter Wright. Smith, meanwhile, will now sit out the Glasgow event after playing twice on the night in Leeds to provide five fixtures in Anderson's absence.
